what's with the apologies?
apparently you don't yet understand kimmy's likings for the nekkids and half nekkids.

I think that'd be a cool little trip to take as part of a CT meet.

back on the old boards I had posted an idea that we have a casino meet. corey said no back then cuz he was a youngin'.
he's a big boy now.
I believe people said they liked Mohegan Sun better.

Just trying to be respectful of the Ladies We all value your opinion and didn't want to have a car meet based on chauvanistic "eye candy"(NOT!!!LOL )

The Casino thing is cool... whatever people what like to do, as long as I have some notice, is fine

Guido's sounds like a good option too!

Does Mo'Sun have a "gentleman's club"? I don't gamble.

I think the purpose of this thread was to throw out ideas.
some posted already that they wouldn't be able to actually meet up until the weather gets warmer aka Aprilish.

I've noticed that this is how meets happen around here: someone picks a definite date, time, place, activity and says "who's in" and then people say "me" or other people whine and then things sometimes get changed to a more convenient date. That person becomes the organizer of that event and becomes the contact for any questions, etc etc.
so the best way to get a meet going is to be a leader.
we're sheep, lead the flock.

well I made a circle of the state once, I don't think it took to long.

enfield to the casinos is cutting across the state, from lime rock to the casinos is some great back country roads, very fun to drive if not triaffic and Rt 7 always has some sort of traffic, 395 caps the eastern part of the state and goes right past the casinos

as for which one is better I have only been in Mohegan Sun, there are two completely seperate parts with a mall setup in the center, many places to eat, and if you don't gamble just walk around and look, there is the sky and earth casino, the earth casino is the older one and has four entrances themed with the seasons, might be different now, the sky casino is open and bright, it has the mountain that you see when the person climbs in in the comercial

as for that corner of the state there is mystic also and that is also a nice area, also you can travel up along the CT river, Gelet castle is a nice area and has some trails

for the eastern part of the state, you could go to Greenwick and westport and look in aw of the houses, see the WWE headquarters, head up rt 7 and go antiquing, The Mark Twain house is in Hartford, got the Pike and the Gold Club in Berlin and Hartford

and of course there are many nice area along the shore

I remember seeing a post a long time ago about some people meeting at a candy factory somewhere in MA. The name Hebert Candies rings a bell. If I remember correctly its not too far from the Yankee Candle Factory a real tourist trap.

There's also some breweries in the Western MA regeion that offer tours of the facility and tasting of their products. On in particular that comes to mind is Hyland Orchards in Sturbridge MA, an old apple orchard that now also brews beer. They offer hay rides, tours of the brewery, tasting of the beer, they also let people venture into the orchard to pick apples, but I'm afraid there won't be any good ones left on the trees.

If we're thinking about something to do in CT, we could make an outting day like for instance, depending on how early we want to start we could hike or drive up Tolcott mt. where they have a look-out tower and other fun things, then we could head to guido's for lunch and if we're up for a drive head to (I forget the name of the town its in) gillette castle.

If it were warmer out and the river wasn't iced up I'd also suggest heading to essex where we can take a ride on a real steam tran along the river then hop on a setem boat for a river cruise and then catch the train back.

Now that I've gotten my brother motivated we should be done putting his car back together soon and I'll have the garage again. Then I can clean it up so we can keep tradition and start planning the spring mod meet at JSmith's, but on a warmer day this time.
