After the initial few big revs were those little ones intentional or was it compressor surge? Sounded kind of weird. Cool none-the-less!

I doubt he's taking the fender well apart for that. I assume he cut the inner fender wall.

No intercooler.. Heat Soak Central here we come.

Here's the efficiency from a good air/air on a fully warmed up 1.8t engine at idle. The guy claims around 90% efficiency driving around town... Maybe you could wire up some temp probes and try and monitor things so they don't get out of hand?

Pascal, I will be installing Water Injection to take care of the heat issue. There is almost no room for an intercooler in the engine bay, and it's next to impossible to try and do a front mount as the radiator is just too wide. You can't get the pipes to the front of the car and back without either going under the subframe at the risk of dragging the pipes on the ground and either way you look at it, the pipe length would be adding a serious pressure drop as well as creating other fabrication nightmares. If you could see the setup with your own eyes you would realise that the thing is shoehorned in there, so adding more pipes and stuff is out of the question.

I didn't go with the water-to-air I/C as it was just too much money for me and I wanted to try and come up with something myself. One way or another the issue will be addressed. It is definitely not a completed project.

i think stazi's efforts should be aplauded by all of us for all of his efforts. not only did he do the install himself with a few other people's help, but he also completed the car within a very short span of time and came out with a vehicle that ran. and not only does it run, it runs good. i dont think its cool for people to be talkin bad about the welds on the intake pipe. i think he did a great job on the install and i dont think everyone should be makin comments about the one minor imperfection of the installation. hes the only guy on the east side of the US to have the turbo installed. so i give major props to stazi for pullin it off and comin out with such great results.

Totally agree here.... I have made many trips out to the shop where the turbo project took place. One of the biggest things that i noticed is the amount of detail stazi worked with.... He truly impressed me with the amount of knowledge of his contour he had, And how much he is willing to share that knowledge. Yeah he is cocky about what he knows, but he backs up whatever he says. I can believe how sweet his car sounds, and i havent even ridden in it yet!! I hope to next year start the same project on my car, and i would definately want his knowledge to help me out..

Good Job Staz...
