Punk, no, I got something much better, in store, and I am sure to be the first CEGer to try it.

Why would you want to ignore the beauty that is the 3.0L Duratec? I can't think of many other impressive engines in this class, and they probably won't fit between the strut towers. It's very cramped in there.

If you're thinking V8, forget it, won't fit.
Four cylinder? Why?
Some other V6 or an I6? Show me one that is better than the Duratec that won't cost you 2X the value of your car to figure out how to put in. You have to think about fabricating the motor mounts, wiring it, installing the engine computer, figuring out ignition/starting, mating it to a transaxle, building proper length CV shafts, etc. A huge undertaking. And not worth it, IMHO.

V8 does fit actually, but it has a lot of modifications to be done. we have had it in, and we had, but there is many details still unfigured out, so my v6 is still in it. We are working hard on trying to install it, and now, I am trying even harder now that the guys who did the v8 focus are working on a contour. I already havd a gt 4.6l out of a 99. its been in and out, just need RWD, and a few other things.

You're trying to tell us you're going to do a RWD conversion of a Contour and slap a 4.6L V8 in it????

Whoa.

Little update...
My work offered me saturday off instead of thursday so I took it. I'd like to have 2days in a row just incase. I also did a lot of reading on Oxygen sensors on the net. Found out a plethora of info and have come to the conclusion that my top o2 sensor is bad. I replace it and the cel still came on. Then I realized I had the wrong bank, so I have to replace the one on the firewall side.

Have you guys seen it? it is burried so deep you'd "almost" have to drop the engine/tranny to get to it. I know a dealer would. I'm going to reach up from the bottom while my friend holds the wrench on the bolt from the top.

Did mine from up top, wasn't too, too bad.

You'll need a O2 sensor socket (preferably a shorty one), a 1/2" to 2/3" convert (O2 sensor sockets are 1/2" drive), a swivel socket, and preferebly a rachet with a head that pivots.
