Mine did the same thing and Ford replaced the sensor, never had a problem with it since.
Unfortunately, the dealers have no clue about these "quirks" with our cars. They changed my sensor without telling me. I took it in for recall work and I look over the slip and it said "Replace Coolant Sensor" because it stayed on. :rolleyes:
