YOU HAVE GOT TO BE FREAKING KIDDING ME???!!! eek

Those effing morons. The IAT (Intake Air Temp) sensor is used by the PCM to determine the temp of the incoming air and adjust timing based on that information. By sticking it in the engine bay dangling, it will be reading nice and hot (ever opened the hood after a nice long drive) all the time. Any time the incoming air is cooler than the engine bay air where the IAT is sitting, the timing will be retarded more than it needs to be. Sure, with the "CAI" the difference might not be much but it is still a difference. I think BAT sells similar setups, but WITH the necessary parts to put the IAT in the intake. The closer it is to the TB, the better you are.
