Pretty light pressure on the WP belt. Since the WP is the only load, there is not a lot of tension needed to keep it the belt from slipping. If the tensioner spring moves freely and pulls the slack out of the belt, it should be OK. Thermostats are pretty common replacement parts, so replacing from an auto parts place should be fine. Why pay/wait for dealer
