As you might recall, my top raiator hose blew and spewed hot water all over my engine compartment. After this happened I have had a sporatic problem with the engine missing while under a load.

I put on new plug wires and it DID NOT help.

I did notice that the little wires that lead to each fuel injector had cracks in their insulation on cylynders #1 and #2. As I understand it there is always fuel supplied under pressure to the injectors and the wires provide a timed voltage that opens the injector at the proper time.

I moved the cracked wires around and I have noticed a bit of an improvement... I THINK!

Does anyone have any input into this?

As soon as it warms up a bit outside I plan to investigate this angle a bit further. I don't know the voltage supplied to the injectors, but I guess that one is a positive and the other a ground (?) If they were arcing or shorting then the cylynder obviously would not get fuel.

The other thing I notice is a popping when the engine is "pushed" while under a load like acceleration. It sounds like a high pitched, quiet backfire.

The car now runs OK about 85% of the time, so it can't be to major!
