Me and the car are sick of it all. She stalled once and threw a CEL Sunday morning after sitting all day Saturday. Restarted her right away and no problem since. Runs great. I guess she didn't like the -15 temp or something. Just gotta unplug the battery for 5 minutes some time to get rid of that sucker. Maybe tonight while I'm clearing snow AGAIN...

Just found out that the guy in charge of cancelling school and work here said "no matter what- we're going to be open tomorrow!"

Yah- well...if I don't feel like I can drive in it...I WON'T!!!!!!!! Too bad! Risking something happening to the SVT (and myself) is just not worth it to me! I will have to use sick time if I'm out though. Too bad this is the week that is the busiest time of the year for me- a HUGE direct mail piece went out on Friday/Saturday. I already got some in Saturday's mail...and with no mail today, I'm screwed tomorrow when the mail comes! Oh well- we'll see what happens!

Well, you could try to sway their opinion by explaining that some of the employees of the office have to drive a long ways to get home. With the heavy snow storm, the roads are likely to get slippery increasing the possibility an accident. Perhaps if we inform the employees that they can leave anytime they feel the need to ensure themselves a safe ride home. They can use acrued vacation or sick time to be paid for the time away from work. In other words, it is voluntary for them to stay at work during the snow storm.

figures that all my classes are before noon when the school closed. the second professor was at class but didn't hold it. he just answered questions on the asignment, kinda annoying

yet I am still going back to the lab so that I do not get to far behind. oh well

there's no reasoning with this guy.
he's a lawyer
only he is right all the time.
that's the law here

(although I've stood up to him on a couple of occasions and stood my ground. was quite invigorating, and he actually took a step back, calmed down and listened to what I had to say. Kim don't put up with no one's squat)

btw Karen, if you happen to notice my name on any of those mailings, be kind and delete me from the database.
thanks Save the trees! peace

I don't mail them out myself. They are actually done by zip code. Everyone in that zip code gets them...it's not by name- it's to "RESIDENT" at such-n-such an address. Sorry!

The only things that you should be receiving is alumni stuff (cause you're in the database as a graduate)- you have to call them to have your name deleted.

About the weather- they already cancelled night classes here...but, won't let us leave early! GRRR! I just drove to my mom's house to cook her lunch- and there's only about 1/4 inch of snow out there...but, it's slippery as heck! I was all over the place in the Protege. Ugh! Can't wait to do it again at 4:30! It's going to be even worse by then...

Yah- my office's Director just told us that we can use our judgement...and leave whenever we want (depending on where we live, etc). I live like 12 minutes from here...but, I think I'll be heading out! YIPPEE! I don't have to use sick time!

Careful driving everyone!
