My car has been stable at speeds well over 100mph. Hell, it was even stable doing 130 with my snow tires. But then I rememberd they were snow tires and are not rated that fast so I backed off, hehe.

with the close gear ratio on the TypeR, i'm almost positive it's around 135-140mph.... JFYFI, I've taken my Tour up to a Speedo confirmed 156mph!!!  How accurate was the speedo at that speed, I can't say.

To contrast, I had a 95 Mystique LS at one point, and @ the 115 MPH limiter it was quite unsettled. I only did that once

I've had my car up to 105 to 112 frequently....I've never had a problem with the car feeling unsettled or twitchy. The car felt completely solid and under control.
If your struts are worn or if you're got bad tires or your sway bar bushings are worn, this may account for your experience.

I've had both my Contiques up to the redline. 184kph/112mph. They both felt incredibely stable at these speeds. However I'm comparing this to my old 86 626. I reached the same speed in it once. There is a slight bit more floatiness in the Mystique and I figure it is due to the softer suspension. However I'm sure the stiffer the suspension in any car the better the ride quality a speed.

i had 160 pinned for about 10 seconds on the atlantic city xway. iknow it was stupid but my 3L was just broken in and i had to give it a try. dont be a naysayer u can come for a ride and ill do it again.

Ha yea i had 145 and still pulling hard when i relaized my dad's car was running blizzaks. OOps.

Did you plus size your tires so as to not throw off your Speedo? I don't doubt you though. My 2.5L (When N/A) pulled hard (relatively speaking) at 140MPH.

Those that saw the SZ '01 video... The part where my car is sitting on the trailer... 3-4 hours before it ended up on the trailer, it was pegging the stock SE speedo running away from a WRX. 140+ and climbing is my guess before it nosed over and spun the rod bearing.

Above an "indicated" 160mph the pillars & windows creak noticably.
