I saw a video of a Firebird on the Salt Flats that started getting some rear lift at near 300mph (stock LT1-type firebird bodywork, obvioulsy not stock drivetrain) he lost traction, the car did a 180, and then the air ripped that hatch open, and lifted the car a good 50 ft in the air, tumbling and turning the whole way. The guy was fine w/ no major injuries, but only because of the excellent safety gear he had in the car.
fwiw, the fastest production 4-cylinder record is held by Rick Byrnes driving a modified Merkur XR4Ti. I don't recall the exact #, but it is over 200mph
