MC and Prop valve are the same from drum to disc, we just don't know if that 'height' sensor or reducer valve is prevalant on rear discs from the factory. They were not there on Buckshot's SVT when I did my conversion, so that is why they were not used, have you noticed them on any rear dics that you have looked at Todd?

That's nice. Me too. Funny how our perceptions of "speculation" vs "true in the world" can be so different. But one thing's for sure. I couldn't care less at the moment than to argue about how wrong you are about the rear brakes "taking a lot of the braking stress off the the front brakes".

Rara-
Do you know if the stock disc's had the valve or height sensor thingy? If so I need to make sure I install them back on. Thanks

FWIW,

Late models (I have a late (99 1/2) Contour SE) with ABS use EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution). The ABS controller (Bosch) does this in the ABS module so there is no mechanical proportioning valve in the rear of the car. I have drums in the back.

OH I see so if you have ABS (which is what Rick has) they don't have the valve if you don't have ABS then you need the valve, Great now I need to add them back on. Thanks!

Check the part numbers of the M/C and prop valve maybe they are different between the same year drum and disc, I know they are the same on my 2000 cougar drum compared to a 2000 cougar with disc.
