Would you ask a Mustang or Camaro owner that if they wanted to swap their T-5 out for a T-56?

But in any case, I agree that the Focus trans wouldn't be a good idea, even if durability and swapability wasn't an issue with it on our cars. If the gearing and durability WAS better and it would swap over..........well it's not so...that's that.

Their 6th gear is just a double overdrive. It's does NOTHING for performance. Their top speed is still achieved in 5th gear!

Now it can let them run a shorter rear gear (4.10 or 4.56) and still get good gas mileage. Thus making it a 5-speed tranny with a second overdrive.

Yes I think the T-56 is a great tranny, but not the giant performance factor you make the extra gear out to be.

lol, honestly I'd take a munchie 4 speed over a 5 (for a muscle car)........and in an auto I'd kill for a powerglide over a TH400 or even TH700-R4. So I'm not exactly a more gears the merrier type of guy.

I'm still wondering what I said to make you think that.
