They were sadly passed up by the aftermarkey even more so than the CSVT which is more the point that I was trying to make. Though now the CSVT has a larger aftermarket a lot of that has to do with the introduction of the mercury cougar. They are just cars that are severely underrated. How many times do you tell someone....I have an SVT Contour and they go... why did you get a contour...or "a contour??? When I tell my friends at work with their hooked up honda accords and preludes and integra's and all other kinds of shiznit I have a Probe GT...they are like...A Probe???? .same deal. No one understands these are both very capable and very fun cars that handle great and are fairly quick. Just ask the guy with the 2000 prelude SH I walked the other day. What does he say after that...Its still a Probe.

useless fact # 127, btcc rules allow any engine from a manufacturers line up to be used in a vehicle, under this clause, prodrive and ford used the american probe v6 engine in their championship winning btcc 2000 ford mondeo. source, i can't remember if it was fast ford or performance ford magazine that had a feature but if anyone would like to know i will look it up when i get home

this was a the sport compact show in Carlisle PA last yr. I was there all weekend...it was crazy.

Sat. Afternoon through the evening turned into Girls-Gone-Wild.

there were photo companies there that you could pay to take pics of your car with their models.

NEPA (i think its called that) North East Probe Assoc. had a few girls there representing them in the bikini contest, but they weren't that hot(model material)..a few were decent but thats it.

It was definately an interesting weekend

Do you mean the japanese mazda 2.5liter engine used in the Probe GT and the mazda mx6 ls and the 626 for that matter. My car is technically a mazda with a ford body and interior. Just in case you meant american probe...it is not so american. In my humble opinion the 2.5liter used was most likely the Duratec block however if you can find the article I would be most interested in seeing it.
