it's just now that the media is reporting it more, that more people are freaking out. They media only exists to make money. They don't care at all about truth, ethics or facts.

You are right on the media making terrorism... and that pisses me off... you never know how much is reality, fantasy created by the media or government manipulation to achieve whatever they want

This is the type of fear that they've been using to promote the war on Iraq from the begining. Instead of avoiding attacks and diverting them in the long run as well, we're instigating them. Why can't we use the same type of diplomacy we're using with N.Korea.   On topic...the threat level indicator has a couple of uses. Up front it looks like a tool to cover their ass$s in the event another 9/11 happens though. But what is Bush doing to insure we won't have to use a threat level indicator like most of the rest of the world? His seeming love for war (his sure to be everlasting war on terrorism  )will keep us in danger's way for sometime. We can't kill all the people that hate us. Going to war with Iraq won't decrease the threat in the short term or long term. ...and we got Bin Laden posted up chillin in pak or afghan mailing in sound bytes. What a war.

I was always a philosophic liberal thinker like you....until my best friend died in WTC...He was a cop on his way to retiring that morning..but his ex boss heard the call at WTC and caled him over to help.
My neighbors died...people who live in my building in nyc.
It's all fine to talk the talk, but how would it feel if they took out downtown Atlanta? Don't mean to judge.....I am a liberal yahoo since forever, but it's a new world now. I live in ground zero, and by God, bring them on. life is short.My friends are dead, and I am not so cynical to believe that our Repub. Govt today is evil and stupid. That is too shallow a thought to entertain. America is a country where we all have the free will to speak...That's what makes it great. I lived here, and I changed...that's all I can say...I guess I just wanted to tell you that...

I too am sorry for your loss. I live my life as if I was to die tomorrow. I don't wish harm on anyone, but if ATL was to be hit tomorrow, so be it. I have my own philosophy. I don't preach it to others, and I don't like for others to preach theirs to me.
There's such things as heightened awareness and overly cynical, e.g., paranoid. Whichever you choose is your decision.
