this really sucks, my mom is getting all paranoid about this code red, she is going crazy looking for water and duct tape b/c of the warning for this next week. all i know is that the metro DC area is on lock down and this really blows. just wanted to share my mom's paranoidness (word?)

Same here. My wife gets really nervous when they start racheting up the threat talk. My mother-in-law commented that it made her a little concerned about us being closer in to DC, but frankly, I consider it better because we're more under the protective umbrella.
My feeling is they've got a pretty firm grip on whatever this "impending" threat is (I think it's cropdusters). And if they know where to look and what to watch for, they stand a better chance of intercepting it. I just hope my gut feeling is right.

A friend of mine is flying to New York next week to visit her brother at school. She's really scared but I keep reassuring her nothing will happen. I started thinking more about it today but I'm still not really worried about it. Although spring break for colleges is coming up in the next few weeks which might cause more of a panic than is really necessary (if at all). We'll see.

i don't think that being 30 miles from ground zero makes me feel any safer, but to each his own i guess. and it's jsut as easy to get stuff into a van, probably easier, than into a crop duster. gee, i hope that we don't kill any of the innocents in the middle east, b/c we all know that they won't attack our innocents.
Paranoia (correct word) , i thought it looked odd when typed it.

i went frantically search for duck tape the other day and to my dismay, i only found chicken gizzards. so i stuffed chicken gizzard in all my windows. but now the house stinks. maybe the smell will keep the biotoxins away.
and what about my fireplace? and drafty doors? and creaky floors? and heating system?

be sure to seal up your secondaries too. those are the first to fail when terror strikes. better to seal them up to keep the toxins from spreading.
