I have final found out why my rear brakes are hanging up and i need a new e brake cable. Does anyone know where i can get on besides dealership? Murrays and Auto zone cant get them and i need one bad rear brakes are draging and dont want to have to pay $100 at the dealership.

where abouts in michigan are u? what happened to the cable? i might be needing a new cable too so fill me in on where u get urs.

i am located in lapeer county it is about 1hr north of detroit. The cable has been getting stiffer and stiffer and i thought it might be frozen so i left it in the garage all night and still was stiff when i pulled it then i went to back up and was still engaged so i had to end up driving with it like that or i would be late for work but i have to get it done quick i am also gonna have to put new rotors on the back now also.

The cable shouldn't be that expensive from the dealer. I just bought one this week from Bill Brown Ford. List price was something like $47, which included the return springs.

Not sure if will help you but you can get a %25 discount at a local dealership if you want to. PM if you want to know more.

Thanks for the replys I found that napa had them and they where 45 for both cables the dealership wanted 49.50 for each side and thanks for offering dicount at dealership for me

mine was 35 for both cables why are you all spending so much money? why dont u realize that theres a discount offer for everyone 25% makes the total on those e brake cables come to like 42 or soemthin like that maybe a bit less. !!!call and use your discount 313 846 5000 parts dep at fairlane ford with shipping anywhere in the us.

Hmmm...I've never actually heard about the discount at Fairlane. I'll look into that in the future. It wouldn't have worked for me this week, since I had some other things to get where time was of the essence. I wouldn't have had time to drive over to Fairlane anyway. Sorry if I offended with my ignorance...

I have called russ milen ford on gratiot and hall rd, also Huntington ford in rochester, romeo ford, imlay city ford, skalneck in lake orion and they all want the same price of 44each and i do get the discount you get it if you are a ford employee
