Use a 1/4" drive and the smallest ratchet you can find, remove the rubber liner on the cowl above the firewall, and find someone with little girly hands to get in there. I got mine off that way (I have little girly hands). Just use the socket to break the screws free, then take them off by hand. Try disconnecting the vacuum lines from the Upper Intake and from the EGR to gain clearance to the screws.
The other option is to pull the Upper Intake Manifold. Not too terribly difficult, but you are adding about 90 - 120 minutes to the job (off and back on again).
