OP str8pipe CEG\'er S Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 120 EXTREME SE GA	was at the strip <wink wink> last night and this punk in his red z24 kept wanting to line them up on the strip..i finally said ok... on take-off he jumped about half car length in front..( i was power shifting the old atx) shifted out of first at about 38mph.....held 2nd to 70 ( by this time i am 1/4 to 1/2 car length ahead of him) when i shift into D and he here's it the punk backs off....so any one with intake and exhaust with a MTX..feel free..they are nothin....

Zetec contour= 125hp, 130 lbs/ft,,,3,000lbs roughly..Give or take a hundred lbs due to body weight variations.Atx = massive drivetrain loss. Ok now take a Z24...140hp,not sure about the torque but 2600 lbs+driver...MTX very little drive train loss...Ok, well its not normal for your tour to beat a z24 with just the mods you have. Maybe...maybe an atx z24 but not MTX...trust me i know,your tour must be on crack. the 2.2liter ecotec is a very powerful 4 banger...My girlfriend just got a new sunfire with one under the hood and i would never race against her car. I am just not able to understand how you can beat one when i don't even stand a chance because remember we have the same cars. And the same mods...except the exhaust.

OP str8pipe CEG\'er S Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 120 EXTREME SE GA	the exhaust on these cars are VERY restrictive....you have a 40lb resonator mid-cab plus a 25lb muffler on the end..this was at night so my CAI came into play (drawing in much cooler air) and the fact that I was manually shifting the atx, which makes a huge difference. try it sometime..there is a noticeable difference in get up and go with you manually shifting...i will just have the video next time to prove it..anyway...
