Still having the CEL blues. One week off, one week on. I went to Autozone and bought an OBDII scanner for the 1998 Contour, Duratech, ATX. To my surprise I'm getting both the P0171 and P0172 codes--bank 1 too lean, bank 1 too rich. I would have expected one or the other as a MIL code. But both? I was hoping for a specific code relating to an O2 sensor or EGR.
Anyone suspect why the two codes?
Also, what is the best suspect for the problem--O2, EGR, or maybe fuel system?
If it were the fuel system, would it not have some type of driveability issue other than an occasional rough idle?
