mmars- I was visiting my supplier, BOSCH, and going over their processes and production line. They have a plant in Jonhson City that produces hubs, rotors and bearings assemblies for us. They are a Tier 2 supplier, we (America Axle & Manufacturing) are a Tier 1, so they supply to us who in turn supply direct to the Big 3.
I agree, Johnson City is pretty empty apart from ETU and Bristol, which is 15 min away.
Unfortunately I don't have suppliers that have plants in NYC, LA, Cancun or Jamaica - yet!
The best business trip I ever had was April 2002, it was to Reno, but I managed to convince my boss to let me stay at a ski resort at Lake Tahoe.
Free snowboarding all weekend long and hitting the club at Caesar's Palace every night was fun!
Going to Phoenix was really good too (Daimler Chrysler have a proving grounds out there). I got to hang out with Keyser (many a time), and Chris from StreetFlgiht, as well as hit up the clubs in Scottsdale. Now THOSE are what I call night clubs. Two words baby, Axis-Radius!
I have never seen so many hot women in one place.
And the dance music they play is excellent! The only down side to Arizona is that clubs close at 1pm - What the hell is that all about? Made me feel like I was a teenager with a damn curfew!!
Coming from Australia where the clubs close when THEY want to close, I am shell-shocked. The party only starts at 1-2pm and thats when you get kicked out of bars and clubs here in the states. What a joke.
PS - Corbett, if you weren't such a fledgeling, then maybe I would meet people my age, but seeing as all your friends we hang out with are 20/21 and you keep dragging me to Windsor (Jail-bait City), they're the girls I end up talking too.
PPS - talk about getting off-track.
