I changed mine to the metal pump about 3 months ago. Temp was running at N or O before and had been since last May. I was concerned about the fluctuation in temp change and decided to change thw pump. I changed the t/stat at the same time to a Ford OEM. Temp now runs at R or M. I prefer it that way, as I believe that the guage is (or at least should be) set up to read in the middle of the range when all is well. I may be wrong in my thinking but I feel happier this way.
