I did a complete tune up on my 99 SVT today. I completed everything except changing the tranny fluid. I'm trying to figure out if there is a dipstick to check this or not. All the manual says is that the clutch and brakes both use the same resovior. Does the manual tranny even use regular tranny oil other than the clutch? I have no idea where I need to change this at. The owners manual doesn't help at all. Any ideas on how to change the tranny fluid for a 5 spd? Also, Has anyone been using Synthetic Tranny Oil successfully? I bought both regular Mercon Dextron III and some Synthentic ATX stuff. I read the manual and it said not to use Mercon V because it can cause problems to the manual transaxle. Is this BS or should I just stick with the regular AT fluid?
