They still make KDWS's. I got mine at discount tire but it's not worth the money.

I've been running Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 tires in a 205/55/16 on my car since October. They're a pretty good dry-weather tire (haven't pushed them TOO far), and honestly, they've been good enough in the snow to the point my lazy ass STILL has yet to put my Blizzaks on yet... no problems with 'em in the weather we've had so far this winter. I know the GTI guys (these tires are stock on those) hate these things, but I've certainly driven on much worse for far more money. You might wanna have him look into those. I've been pleased so far.
