Is it possible that i could have warped my new front rotors in two monthes, it seems as if the brakes on this car chew rotors up then spit them out warped, and this is not a cheap habit. Is there a way to tell if it's the front or back that are warped. I would expect the back to be due to a hangin gup e-brake and actully have a rotor wating to be put on after i fix the e-brake. Although it only vibrates when slowing down for 80 or so but i vibrates like a mother. Suggetions comments? Thanks, Brian

Jack the car and turn the wheel by hand if it grabs on and off, they'r probably warped.

Are you sure you're not torquing the crap out of your lugs?
This WILL warp the brakes fast!

Also what pads an rotors are you using?

If it vibrates on the wheel it's probably the fronts. I have never warped the rears. There just not as much braking going on back there. I have experienced 3 sets of warped front rotors now. 1st set was stock...25K, then ford replacements warped at 52K...and then I used KVR Cross Drilled...which warped in less then 10k miles!!! I decided to go with a bigger better front setup, the Focus SVT. Hopefully they will last a lot longer!! I will have them on next week.

I torque the lugs to 90 ft-lbs as specified in the manual, and how much is the FSVT set up? The brake pads are the lifetime warantied one from AZ and the rotors are from summit racing, Brmebo's off brand Qualitee. Brian

Call Bill Jenkins - 800-876-3280

$330.00 after the core fee of 170 for the calipers is returned. You get NEW 12" rotors and loaded (with pads) NEW FSVT calipers!! You need close to 500 up front but get a hefty core charge back when you send back your stock calipers in the included boxes.

PM me if you would like any more details!

i didnt see what rotors u had before getting the kvr's ...i have the same on front...no warping on mine....did u follow the break-in procedure??? i did and im guessing it worked

one thing i learned on this site is that any pair of rotors should be broken in gently with a series of shorts drives and stops at varying speeds

my moms 2000 taurus has warped the fronts already and she only has maybe 12k miles on it and she bought it new...we had to bring it home on the freeway in traffic and i had no idea that rotors had to be broken in

at some point i would like to upgrade to the e0(?) rotors...whichever yr had the larger svt rotors

I have the same damn problem. Ford replaced my rotors. They warped in two months. They replaced free of charge and now they are warped again. I'm not happy. I think I am going to take them off myself and hope they can be cut if they aren't junk. My lug nuts aren't torqued too tight either. This car is high maintenance.

I just had my brakes done and the rotors were warped right from the dealer.
They say they resurfaced the rotors, and I told them that they should have just left them alone.

Now I've got to go back and let them resurface them again.
If they warp again, I'm gonna get a new set myself, and they won't be FORD rotors for sure...
