I have the 3L/2.5 hybrid but I currently have the 2.5 valves. I found a place that will do the 3L valves for a decent price and I was wondering if the air/fuel mixture was going to change if I do the 3L valves. I still have the stock SE intakes and injectors and starve for fuel above 4500 rpm enough as it is. I plan on getting larger injectors and the S-AFC along with a chip and maybe a new MAF as soon as my tax return come in (I just spent 6000 getting the 3L prepped and installed). Will the parts listed above take care of the fuel problem that I'm having? And what size injectors are people using for their 3L? Thanks for any help.
98 SE Sport. custom catback, Intrax springs, 3L, 3L valves, APEXi S-AFC, 24# injectors.
Other cars:
72 Challenger 360 motor 727 trans (used for parts)
73 Challenger 340 motor 727 trans 15.60 1/4 with bad miss and clogged fuel filter.

19 or 24 lb injectors should cure your problem and the maf and AFC are good ways to get them tuned just right. You will flow more A/F with the larger valves so your injector shortage will probably be even more noticeable.

Thank you. I also meant to find out if I will need to order any other parts for the 3L valves to fit. I just had the heads reconditioned 4500 miles ago but i bent a valve and now want to go 3L do I need to replace the springs and retainers, etc. along with the 3L valves? Is it possible to go too big on the MAF(80mm proflow?). I plan on spending about $4000 on the motor/ trans this month but I want to keep it N/A. I may add NOS after I learn more about it. Too scared to use it right now.

You need to have new valve seats put in, if the springs are old I'd replace them as well. Most people have had good luck with the 75 or 73MM maf. I've got the 75 and I think it's just right and I'm using F/I on my car to boot. You could always send the heads off to Kinger and they can do all the work of the valves plus do a full port and polish job to really make it flow.

I saw 24# injectors in Summit for Mustangs. Are those the same ones people are using for our cars as well?

You want the pencil style (fat body will work too, just harder to make them fit) with the rectangular connection. I can probably get you a set used if you like. PM me and I'll shoot you a price.

24# injectors are good for probably any 3L project without a turbo or S/C.
I will be pulling my 24#'s soon to put in bigger ones.
