well I have a '88 CRX that runs like a champ but in the looks department it's pretty much beat to hell. the front two fenders and hood are looking pretty shotty so i'll be replacing those but the rest of the car needs help... badly. I was wondering if any of you guys know the first thing about sanding a car down and would be interested in helping me sand it down? my girlfriend will be giving out hand jobs and hamburgers to anyone who's down to help. ok no hand jobs but i'll make sure anyone who helps is well compensated in a non-sexual type of way ($$$ or beer and lots of it).

I will provide all the equipment and can rent a sander if necessary. Swazo provided me with some good directions on how to sand it down so I guess if anyone wants to learn how to do some body work without destroying your own car, here's your chance! The good thing is that this car is tiny and i'll be throwing a body kit on there so we don't have to worry about the front or rear fenders. Just the doors, quarter panels and roof so it shouldn't take too long.

so yeah, i'm looking to do this in the next few weeks so if somebody could throw me a bone that would be great. We can make a day out of enjoying the wonderful world of rice!

I would love to help you out but I just finished driving home every weekend for the last month or so to work on and paint most of the panels on my car. I used a good two quarts of filler. Good luck.

i know a little bit about sanding, seeing that i sanded all the svt ground effects on my car and painted them. also took an auto custom paint class in high school....probably the best thing to do would be to sand with 400-600 grit wet sand paper. btw, where do u live and when are u thinking about having people over?

I did the bodywork on my first car. I'll be down if Im not doing anything else. When and where ya wanna do this?

well i was thinking maybe next saturday or the first week in march depending on how everyones schedule is looking. i live in southfield but depending on the weather we may have to go elsewhere so i'll get that worked out. thanks for the responses though and with 3-4 guys it shouldn't take too long at all and any help would be appreciated. we could do it early in the morning or early in the afternoon so we wouldn't have to worry about spoiling anyone's plans for the day.

so let me know if u guys usually work on saturdays or if that day sounds good. sunday is an option as well for me. maybe i'll buy everyone pistons tickets and we can all go to a game or something...

You need to get with Dave (GR8Ride), he too has a CRX but don't get bummed out when you see his car, keep your chin up and you'll get your car lookin' as good as his
