Well last night I went ahead and installed the fitting for my Oil Pressure gauge into my block.

The right place to get it is at the main Oil gallery feeding the crank!

The other spot high up on the head doesn't give you a true reading as it is after a restrictor plate.

the correct place to tap in is behind the A/C compressor on the Duratec.

3 bolts loosens the A/C compressor, and with the belt off, and also unscrewing the A/C line that's joined to the front crossover coolant pipe you can move the A/C compressor forward towards the radiator enough to see a plug to the left of the oil filter connection and a little under the stock oil pressure sender.

You need to use an 8mm Allen wrench to remove the plug, then install a female/female reducer and then a 90° elbow followed by the reducer you get with the Mechanical Oil Pressure Gauge kit and then finally the compression fitting.

How are you routing the oil line to the guage? Across the front w/ some sort of heat sleeve or up & over the back with a longer line?

I am going straight forward to the subframe, then zip tying it to the subframe. Across to the drivers side "wall" along the subframe and up to the gauge from there.

Yeah it's close to the headers, and with A TURBO MAKing THEM GLOW RED it's best to stay the hell awayfrom there!

Copper line would've been nice, I don't know if a heat sleave would do it for the nylon that comes with the kit. Last thing I want to do it melt it and loose pressure to the main bearings!

I have the plug in my tool box. I'll have to check. I think it may be a straight metric thread though.

Could I tap an electric sending unit in that same spot? I was just going to tap mine into the head by if I wont get a "true" reading from there then I want to do it right.

Might not be enough room. It's TIGHT back there as the compressor goes over the fittings once you done.

would a 90 degree elbow turn it and give us enough room? and an accurate reading? *not too up on the gauges*

MAYBE, the electric senders are HUGE, IIRC, so it may not fit. I guess you could only try, and maybe cobble together a bunch of fittings till you got it to fit.

Stazi...where are you planning on tapping for the turbo feed line? Out of the same spot? Only reason I'm asking about the feed line is that Chris stated to tap the driver's side head for the feed, and I was unaware of a restrictor.

On a side note, I'm running an electric gauge tapped to the driver's side head....perfect fit, and readings in the 40-50 psi at WOT.
