Average turn around is less than 1 week from when payment is recieved. We just shipped out a bunch last week and are getting the next batch together.

FYI, with the nice warm 60+ degree days here in Denver recently we've been seeing as large as a 60 degree temprature differential between the air inside the shield and the rest of the engine bay...

But does it result in gains? I like the idea, but I can't shake the idea of it just being another Air Box. But if I'm totally wrong, I'll be getting one!!

Well a heat shield itself will not make any more power. Blocking hot air from being injested into the motor will prevent you from losing HP that you would otherwise have.
The advantage over the stock SVT airbox is that our shield allows you to use a bigger air filter. The stock SVT filter is undersized and good gains can be made by going to a larger filter.
Often times the gains people see from going to a larger open element air filter are offset by the increase in air intake temps due to lack of shielding from hot underhood air.

It's the ol' one step forward, one step backward...

What would be the best filter to go with this heat shield? There was discussion about certain filters that might actually cause a slight loss in power because of its shape, etc. What's the best filter?

As long and as wide a conical filter you can get!
I went w/ a 7" long AFE filter. The inverted cone filters seem to implode. Any filter that's too small will probably implode, too. So, measure the maximum space you can fill and order a filter that fits those dimentions.

Uhhh, I don't think that's a link to anything filter-related.
