Well a heat shield itself will not make any more power. Blocking hot air from being injested into the motor will prevent you from losing HP that you would otherwise have. The advantage over the stock SVT airbox is that our shield allows you to use a bigger air filter. The stock SVT filter is undersized and good gains can be made by going to a larger filter. Often times the gains people see from going to a larger open element air filter are offset by the increase in air intake temps due to lack of shielding from hot underhood air.
