By having it shallow there, the header can run straight down and under the engine. On the Contour, our oil pan is shallow near the main pulley. Out exhast has to curve to the passenger side of the car THEN go under the engine.

In other words, the second sectionof that header would have to be completely re-done for our cars. Either that or you would have to get a focus oil pan and oil pump if that is even possible.

The good news is that there is a big heat shield piece in front of the stock resonator. It looks like this was meant for an alternate cat location. I sure would have liked the cat there from the factory!
