on the 'tour zetecs, the cat is bolted to the exhaust manifold and then a metal strap goes around the cat and bolts to the block....my questions are....(1)is there any laws governing the relocation of the cat?? unless i am wrong, the purpose of the strap and being bolted to the block is to prevent the motor from applying any unneeded torque on the exhaust manifold (causing it to break the welds, similar to the jba header)and possibly cracking the exhaust pipe. couldnt a 14 gauge piece of flat steel (chromed or powder coated) be attached so that you could bolt it to the block, thus simulating the strap and the cat being bolted to the block. i think that would be a viable solution (and keep ceg'ers from breaking the welds on the header). if i am wrong on any of this....please correct me..
