I am sure this has been out before! I was just wondering if a Taurus SHO engine will fit in the contour's engine bay? I don't see why not. If we can put 3.0L into it, why not a 3.8 (I think that is right, either that or its 3.4L the one made with Yamaha)? Any information on this will be greatly appreciated. Also, comments would be nice. Maybe a source for a SHO engine???

You OBVIOUSLY have never worked on your car (if it has a Duratec V6) there is no way in HELL a SHO engine would fit and if it did, you would never be able to work on it. I bet YOU couldn't even remove the alternator (let alone find it!). Forgot about it, move along, it will never happen. Please no more crazy questions or I'm going to have an aneurysm. Look here: Why nothing larger than a Duratec V6 will fit..
2000 SVT Turbo 295hp/269ftlb@12psi

Knuckles rebuilt w/new bearings $55
AUSSIE ENDLINKS $70
Gutted pre-cats $80/set
A lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine!

Ahem... The Yamaha SHO V6 with first a 3.0L & then a 3.2L (mated to the ATX)
Never was it the POS 3.8L pushrod engine.
The 3.4L V8 came in the 3rd Gen SHO's and was ATX only. It is a Duratec based engine. (bascially a 3L with 2 extra cylinder grafted on)
Not one of them would even fit in the engine bay much less would be compatible with any of the electronics or wiring. Nor would you even want to switch to any of them anyway.
If you had done a simple search you would have saved yourself the big embarassment of looking like a moron here. Several folks have already done that previously and now you have just added your name to the list...
Though with what's listed in your signature I think it's already a given you are an idiot. (cut springs )
2000 SVT #674

It was not broke; Yet I fixed it anyway.

CUT SPRINGS CUT SPRINGS
What are you thinking man.....you know how seriously damaging that can be to your suspension...and crazy.....When you cut them you also weaken them. Not a smart move...ask anyone here...go save money and buy the good stuff...I worked for a year in a shop and I saw my share of cut springs....one of the actually got logged in the rubber gromet (or spring seat)and bent....he had to buy all new spring seats and springs for 500 bucks plus labor...
Some of that could have been saved if he just went with the aftermarket springs.

OK! Everyone can jump the F*ck off me for asking a damn question. I think a simple no it will not fit would have done perfectly fine!! Oh yeah and the cut springs are being replaced ASAP!!! Too rough and they are being replaced with Ground control coilovers. So, F*ck you all!!!
