So I'm driving along and I notice a lack a H.P.
So I gun it to see if I'm mistaken. 2nd gear takes forever to spool up so I know someting is not right. So I stop the car and pop the hood. Can't find anything. Start driving again give it some gas and notice that the pick-up seems to be restored through first. I put it into 2nd and all the sudden I hear a big gush of air and pressure from the engine. Thinking I've just messed the car up huge I stop again pop the hood play with the throtle and feel exhaust from the rear bank next to the firewall blowing at me. (so its blowing to the drivers side) I manage to get it back to work and set up a time for it to be looked at tommorow @ Ford. Question is what do you guys think this could be. I'm guessing the manifold seal but could it be a cracked manifold. I mean I felt a drop in power just before the nasty happened so could that be a indicator of whats wrong with it???? Any help would be great thanks.

95 contour se...dark blue...monsterflow air filter...remanuf atx...wiring harness recall or bust!!!96k miles...motorcraft awsf32pp plugs & red ford racing 9mm wires...kvr black plated cross-drilled rotors & carbon fiber pads...currently undergoing renovation...excuse our dust!!!

Recall work was done but if this is the case could it blow a hole up the line?

i am sorry to hear about your car that sucks . maybe an exhaust gasket ?

Not too far out of the realm of possibility, maybe something crawled up in there? I know mice and snake's have been known to do that, trying to stay warm from the heat of the engine. My two cents.

It's being looked at as I type. I'll let you know whom will win the lottery when I find out. I will bet against a snake myself (too cold) but the mouse one sounds interesting

Yup its the cats sure enough. Can't wait till that gets repaired. Depending on how long they been going bad the car may have more power than I thought.
