I will run a couple of simulations to compare the two.

Have you considered a pair of LE12's in a 2ft^3 box? They would be perfect for your current amp at 300w each. You could sell your IDQ's for near their purchase price and then build a box for around $30.

My LE12 plays much, much deeper than my IDQ10, more than I'd expect from a larger cone area. I don't think you'd be disappointed.

I'm guessing that output between the LE12's and IDQ12's would be comparable with maybe a slight edge towards the IDQ's, but the LE12's would play deeper.

In any case, have you thought of just trying the IDQ12's in a larger box? It should improve their low bass response, 1.1ft^3 for a pair of 12s is tiny. They must have a really shallow mounting depth to fit 2 to a box that small.

I am pretty committed to my box. It is custom for my space, and a lot of work went into building it. Also, I don' thave the resources to do it again.

Do you happen to have any pics of it? I really don't know what kind of customization can happen with it without a better idea of how it looks.

Hey Dave, what about a PR system with a 12" drone cone and something like a Titanic MKII, Dayton DSQ, one of the IDQ12's, BP 1201, BP 1202, BP 1203, IDMAX, or something else.....

My unibox skills are poor. Don't want to try modeling something incorrectly.

The same box could be used without any modification.......

I just want to thank everyone for the useful feedback you guys are a great resource and definitely keep me occupied during slow moments at work.

The box is in a Saab Convertible. The trunk is REALLY small (compared to the Contours) and I built the box as large as I could to still allow room for golf clubs, beer, etc.

Specifically, the box fits tight between the wheel wells, and just under the roofs storage compartment. Its approximate demensions are 7"deep, 13"high, 36-40"wide

Below is a crude top view of the box. Please disregard the periods. They represent empty space. As the box goes back, it becomes less wide to accomodate the roofs motors.

Thats what I am trying to figure out right now. Generally, for a PR to work good, you need to have a PR with AT LEAST 2x the Vd of the other driver. Which is why I asked for the layout, a 15" PR from stryke may work if it will fit.

No room for a 15" PR
