When you add an K&N intake and a cat back exhaust, it gives the car more performance, 15-20 hp, right? How does this affect gas mileage?

15-20hp is pretty optimistic...more like 10-12hp...and mpg is usually worse, cause you'll have you foot in it more! Might increase 1-4 mpg...

yeah 15-20 hp is very optimistic...I would say probably around 10 HP gain (at the wheels) maybe a little higher or a little lower. Anyhow if you drive the same gas mileage will improve, however like previously stated you tend to get on it more and more. At least I do, I drive my car hard alot now and I only have the intake done so far.

10 FWHP may even be pushing it for just a K&N panel filter & cat-back on a regular Duratec.

You will notice a decent increase in MPG either way.
