Not to say otherwise but I know of at least 1 CEGer who claims he ran 19x8 axis 7s w/a 45mm offset and had little rub. I believe it was lilbern who had that setup. I just dont understand.

IIRC his car was not low enough. My car is slammed to the ground and I rub like hell. At first it was the lip, but now it is the actual wheel liner in the front and rear.

Yes, lilbern said he ran 19x8's, 45mm offset, with 215's without any rubbing issues. He also stated he had a 3" drop on the car at the time. I posted my opinion on this subject many times. It seems like the tire size is more of an issue on the rubbing. Lilbern also stated he had some 18x8's with a 42mm offset. He said with 225's they rubbed.

Until I get under a car and actually see the clearance, I'm going to assume they will rub no matter what.

Yup. In the end, the size of your tires determines the overall width and diameter, not the wheels.

I didn't rub at all with 19x8 45mm offset and 215/35 tires.
I rub like a biatch with 19x7.5 42mm offset and 225/35 tires.

Ooops...off on my quote of 18x8...don't know where I pulled that out of. Sorry about that.

So if I went w/a 19x8 rim, a 215/35 tire and around a 45mm offset I should have little rub? BTW, I have the eibach spring set which claims a drop of 1.25" or there abouts..

Like Antonio said, if you have your car hammered, the wheels will rub, but all it takes is trimming some of the fender liner in certain places. I've ran 18x8 with rubbing issues, but the trimming took care of all that. The 19x8 I have sittin gin my garage have about the same overall diameter with tire as the 18x8. (225/40/18 on the 18 and 225/35/19 on the 19)

If you're gonna do it, step up to the plate and do it right!
