After not buying an Accord back in '95 because the Sales Manager was a liar (long story)....I found the Contour. It was white, automatic, premium sound, and 2.5 liters. Could hardly believe it was an American made Ford. It was a jewel and gave very good service to me until October of 1998. I installed factory mud flaps on it which really improved looks. Sold it to a young gal who lived in north Georgia. It looked like new. I recall that she was so happy to become the owner of that car that I thought she'd probably pee in her pants that day. Aahaha.
In latter October of '98 my new green 1999 rental car finally arrived from the factory! Felt like it took forever! It had nice tan leather seats and a power moon/sun roof (the stereo was kindly sucky when compared to the '95 white GL model I gave up...but not bad). I've kept it washed and waxed and it attracts the eyes of folks here in West Georgia (Carrollton) and East Alabama(Wedowee). I guess there arn't many green, black, or red ones around here.
It is a truly beautiful design. Our 25 year old daughter would like to be the next owner

. But she keeps her older Probe looking like...well...you know. I'd hate to have to see my old Contour neglected(trashed?). Also our 13 year old son says he'd like to have it when his drivers license time comes. I say, "Son, you'll probably end up killing yourself in that thing." Need to get him a 4 cylinder Ranger

.
You guys have a happy driving year.
