It is a 22K Ohm resistor that fools the PCM into thinking that the intake charge is around 65 deg. You may not even feel a gain with this low a resistor rating. Go to Radio Shack or any electronics store. You need to get a resistor with more resistance. Look into a Haynes manual and you will see that about a 40K ohm resistor will give you some gains, but not 20HP or even 5HP... more like 2 or 3HP with the possibility of frying your O2 sensors and your cat!! Don't do it unless you are trying to make up for a mod that has made your A/F ratio too lean (I.E. MAF mod)... In that case, go for it!!
This way you will stay away from detonation, but still get advanced timing and less intake restriction. Maybe 10HP this way. Give or take. If you do this mod anyways be sure to only solder the resistor into the "return to PCM" wire.... !
not both wires! If you follow the idiot that sold you that $.10 resistor by his instructions, then you will get a C.E.L. THE AIT SENSOR HAS TO REMAIN FUNCTIONAL. ALL YOU WILL BE DOING IS GIVING IT A "BOOST" per say!
Without a pre-existing leaning mod, you won't see very much gain if any!
