Check your hinges first...most likely problem, Open the door a few inches and reach down and pick up on the door. If it rocks up an inch or so, your hinges are worn and causing the "alignment problem". I think the hinge pins and bushings are easily replaced on our cars just looking at them, however I haven't done it.
