I'd have to agree with Sandman here on this one. Military workers get paid jack squat unless they have a high rank.
Even high ranking officers, relatively speaking are poorly paid. Sure relative to the lowest paid enlisted men they make a lot more money. But if you compare the salary of a Major General in charge of a 50K member division to the CEO of any company with 50K employees, add in the much greater responsibility for the lives of his soldiers and the importance of the mission and that general is underpaid.
I know it may not seem that way to a buck sergeant fire team leader, but trust me, officers are not getting rich in the military.
