Just an update.... Ford replaced my blown engine with a rebuilt one and provided a 24 month/24000 mile warranty. I was disappointed that it wasn't a brand new engine but the dealership claims that Ford will supply a new engine only within the first 12 months. After that, they will use a rebuilt engine. Interestingly, they will provide only a 12 month/12000 mile warranty on a brand new engine.
Anyway, the 'tour is back on the road and it runs fine with the new engine. Think it's time to look into that extended warranty program....
