Ok, it looks like I am the oldest to post on this so far. I was 29 and working at a department store on the receiving dock and customer pick up (CPU). One of our guys came back to the dock after making a CPU and said the Challenger blew up. He was a joker so we didn't believe him at first. He told us to go to the TV department and check it out. We all took our turns going there to see the news. My wife and I still live in the same house in League City, TX just minutes from JSC. I now work at Fuddruckers, across the street from JSC and many of our customers are NASA or NASA contractors. It is truley hard to believe that this happened, talk about surreal. My wife and I drove past NASA a few times today...People placing flowers, balloons, and flags around the sign at the entrance.
