Actually...
1. Urine is sterile.
2. Fat in decent amounts is known to be healthy.
3. Blood... ok, but, cooked to the correct temp, and bloodborne pathogens are killed.
Dr. Atkins actually supports eating meat, if you listen. The Atkins diet is based on low carb, more protein, which is backed by many health "gurus." Protein, in its most readily available form is in meat. As well as whey. Soy protein is decent and all, but, men should not take large quantities due to its chemcial similarities to estrogen. Look it up.
Personally, I eat meat. Why? Because I like it. I get off my butt and exert myself. As much as I should? No, but, I'm getting better.
I was sick all the time when I didn't eat meat. In fact, pork, in particular (also very fatty) is what got my intestinal disorder under control years ago.
I do have to agree with some things that have been said. On both sides. But, humans are omnivores. We're not meant to eat one or the other. We're designed to ingest both meat (red or white) as well as veggies (grains and otherwise). Don't get me wrong- I may think that vegetarians are kinda crazy for not eating meat, but, I'll never force someone to eat a steak. I can't say the same for a lot of the vegetarians/vegans I've encountered in my life who've tried to "change my ways" because "it's for my own good."
