I know this is a mere matter of opinion, but here goes... I am going to buy a couple 12" subs here fairly quick, and have been doing some heavy research. I know everyone here loves the Lambda, but I was looking at the audiobahn ALUM12Q sub. The Lambda would be cheaper, which is always a plus, but in your own experiences, which sounds better? I don't want to spend more than 150 per sub, so maybe there is a better sub out there for me? Any help would be great...Thanks.

The other speakers will probably have a little more output, but sound quality wise.. the Lambda's will be hard to match. No matter what price range.

The Audiobahn is an average driver at an okay price. The Lambda PB LE is an above average driver at an unbelievable price. If yo are considering two 12" drivers, do ourself a favor. Get a single PB15, not LE. About $200 shipped to your door. The 15" will go lower and has an extra 2dB efficieny which almost makes up for two 12's, while using less power. This will allow you to save even more money on the amp which only needs 300rms into 4-ohms.

I say u could go with lambda, but like they say output is not as much as most subs. Also Adire Shiva or even one Brahma would be a good choice. www.ampman.com is probably the best place to purchase Adire Audio products. Infinity Kappa Perfects can be had brand new on Ebay for about 150 a sub for 12"

You might also want to take a look at the Blueprint BP1202. A pair of those run by a JBL BP1200.1 should sound great in both SQ and SPL. They're $94/each from: http://www.audioliquidators.com/sub.htmlI've had a couple 'Bahn subs, some 8s and some AW1000X 10s. I'd say they're average subs with above average looks at a reasonable price. This seems to be the prevailing impression of most of their line-up. BTW, I'm running a single Lambda LE12 - great sub. The 2ft^3 box I built for it could actually fit a pair of LE12s and takes up only a little trunk space.

After reading the little lambda story in the other post, I am now getting one for sure. I didn't know how much time and energy he put into these things. I am gonna get a couple very quick here, before he shuts down! Which one do most people get, to put in a sealed box in the trunk?

Lambda PB drivers. If you really want awsome sound, go for teh "standard" motors. Honkey and myself have PB 15's in our foci. I've got a 10" in my contour. Go for a pair of standard 12's. they'll fit in the same size box as a single 15.

I would maybe opt for the mobile LF in a sealed enclosure. PBs work well in a sealed box, but are stellar in a ported enclosure. The 15s ported box would be enormous, though.

I believe its a matter of what you expect from the subs, deep bass, SPL, etc.
You can get different results with the same Sub by using different enclosures, i.e. sealed for audiophile performance; vented or ported deep bass; band pass pure SPL.
On the other hand depends in the amount of watts youâ??ll be running them. Makes no sense having a large sub with a small amp or vice versa.
I have in my Contour a single 12â? W3 JLAudio subwoofer in large vented enclosure, with 400 watts RMS from a Punch Amplifier a sounds great! Actually makes my rear view mirrors shake. I strongly recommend this subs. Hope this helps.

To a certain extent, I agree with you up to here. Although I have heard bandpass and ported (technically no difference between a vent and a port) that could be considered "audiophile". Also, certain specs will indicate an optimum enclosure type. Not all subs will sound good in a sealed enclosure, and some won't perform well in ported enclosures.

I may be just misinterpreting you, but the way I am reading it, I will have to disagree. With most larger subwoofers, they are more sensitive than their smaller siblings meaning that given the same power will provide more output. There is a member here who has a sealed box with a Lambda PB15 with only 300w, and is reaching ~140 dB. All while retaining stellar SQ.
