Ah interesting thought this problem only existed after 97? My 98 Mystique LS (built 07/97)had TSB 9-13-11 applied. reprogram & servo changed, all external work. Definitely corrected that harsh 1-3.

Anyone know how many cars this TSB involved?

Redhawk
The reason for my comment, was because the dealer never had this complaint until I started driving around big city traffic. Here in the rural areas for the most part we drive like toads.
To visit the grandson requires a drive around or thru Chicago's many race tracks.
The mechanic had to look at several calibration stickers etc before coming up with the correct Servo & software patch. The way he described it the list was large?
Ask your dealer to research it. It took me almost a year of research thru Alldata & NHTSA's website, but they don't give specifics. It was so intermittent, but when it happened the whole structure got hammered. Depending what type of driving the PCM had learned. The mechanic said it timing of events after he looked at it.
Funny thing, after they did mine, they had 5 or 6 other cars they fixed???? 99's at the time.
So its possible all years have this similar design. My cousin runs a transmission shop told that Ford did have a redesign but wasn't sure when?
Good Luck
Paul
