The exhaust would not even hang as low as the sideskirts or front bumper. If the pipe were even touched either the front bumper, sideskirts or both would already be gone.
Also there are 3 layers between the fuel cell and the piping with the outter one being re-enforced ABS shielding. (to protect from crashes!)
Also I ran the F-body setup for over a year and it hung about 2" lower than his setup will and I never bottomed it out once.
I'm not worried. Saving those 4 90 degree bends and 60+ inches (each pipe) is well worth it performance wise!
Besides at least 2 people have been running that setup for quite some time with no problems.

wouldnt you have to have some slight bends in the pipe for it to come back up past the gas tank so that the tips would hang right and not 6' below the cutouts if that makes sense

That's the beauty of piecing together 90 degree mandrels. You can just rotate the angles to change the positioning.
That's how I did my F-body setup with only 2 total 90 bends after the muffler. With 4 bends in this setup getting the proper angle will be cake.

How many people high center the side skirts? Straddle one piece of road debris and the pipe would be toast. As many times as I killed the 3" SMA exhaust just running it under the rear suspension subframe assembly, I'd never intensionally do anything like that again, especialloy with a gas tank involved.
On my SE, the exhaust would be the lowest thing around going under the tank. Bad joo joo to mess with...
Is your car lowered at all???

My car is stock ride height. Well actually probably a bit above stock height. (weight loss raised it)
Anything that would hit the pipes would take out the front bumper either way. I don't go off roading so that's not a worry.
If I hit any animal my car is screwed already so I don't see the problem. Don't run into things - That's simple
Also like I said; I ran the F-body setup for over a year. It hung at least as low as the lowest ground effect's point and I never bottomed it out once. This setup will be 2" higher than the ground effects. That's a mile compared to the ground clearance on the ground effects.
I suppose we could ask Micah to chime in. His car is like 2" off the ground. Wonder if he has bottomed the pipes out...

well i bought micah's sides and rear off his champaign lx, and thye'll be going on a 95 se which will most liekely have the roush/st200 setup off my other car on it. That seemed to lower about 1.25 in the front and about 1.6 in the back.. now am I reaching a danger zone??
