i guess it all depends on the person...up here in michigan being the motorcity and all, who doesnt have a mustang, especially the V6 ATX. Seems mainly like a girls car. And yes, the contour can be a granny car as well. But mustangs seem to come a dime a dozen, as do non-svt contiques. Keep in mind that only about 11,000 svt contour were produced. Now give me an 03 cobra, and thats something to drool over.

psst.. RAIN...
Also you are missing the point entirely. That's what makes these cars so great and heads above your typical, everybody has one, all too common Mustang, F-body, Honda, etc...
A great looking, decent accelerating (no not overly quick by any means), outstanding handling sleeper that you can haul 4 to 5 people around in and a large trunk full of stuff.
I specifically choose my SVT over a Mustang or Firebird. Much more practical for me, looks a hell of a lot better, and definitely handles far better. Yes I traded off some straight line acceleration, but coming from a 12 second rare car (89 Conquest TSi) I would have done that either way.
I guess I am just from the philosophy that I'd rather have something special and unique versus being a sheep and following the all to common majority.
Heck when I had an old "Muscle" car it was even a Buick...

I really dont understand you mustang people. You think that your cars are like gods gift to the earth. You don't even give other cars a chance. I have a couple of friends that have mustangs and they all think this way. And for that fact every mustang owner that I have meet has also had this similar attitude. Anything that is not a mustang is a peace of crap. Every honda is a ricer. I am sorry but there are a hell of alot of civics and stuff that would hand you your asses. I am sorry that none of us with SVT's wanted a popular car like a mustang. By the way when i hear mustang I think a totaly over rated peace of crap with a driver that probably has a Mullet. Sorry to offend anyone that has a mustang and does not think like this. I just had to get this off my chest.

No I mean that you think that every honda is a ricer. My little brother has a SI that I bet could put alot of mustangs to shame. Just because it has a 4 cilinder does not mean that it is a ricer. A ricer is someone that puts stickers all over and tacky asthetic mods. with that def. I have seen alot of mustangs that are ricers.

Obviously beauty is in the eye of the owner.
About being unique...how many externally bone stock looking LT1 Z28's run in the 10's on motor, BFG DR's, 93 pump gas, driven 90 miles round trip to the track and not very loud? No skinnies here, stock tips on the exhaust, anything that would give it away is hidden. That will be my new combo that will be ready in 4 months.
When I see name calling, mullet flinging, does that make you feel better?
There a few Honda's and Civic's that can go around handing people there asses.
I do all the computer work at a local dyno shop and being such, I see all types of cars dynoing. A lot of imports come in the shop and most could not beat my fiance's 99 V6 Mustang, but they all talk about smoking GT's and Z28's.
You guys are welcome if your in the NE OHIO to come down and dyno. We are always looking for "unique" cars to come down. Here is the link...www.bigshotdyno.com

Look I am just really tired of people talking crap about everyones cars. I find that mustang and camero owners tend to do this alot. I don't undrstand why you cant be like "oh they put alot of effort in to their car" or something like that. Instead you have to just clasify everything as a ricer or something. Most import owners have respect for american cars but people with american cars have no respect for imports. I just dont get it. I guess that you all are just too inmature. Yeah i think that there are ulgy cars, But i dont go around talking all this crap about them. Any way there is my 2 cents.

Then why are you doing the same thing taking about mustang owners. I owned a contour and loved it to death. I now have a mustang and don't go slamming tours. You are sounding the same as all the mustang/camero/.... owners that talk bad about other cars.

Hey CantonRacer, I work in Richfield. Just starting to get more serious with mods. I might have to drop by sometime. Hopefully your web site has some fees listed for the dyno?? Warmonger, I believe your story about the GN 100%. I come from a long line of Buicks, so to speak. Let me just say this though, stock for stock a GN will smoke an SVT at least up to the triple digits. And if you spend equal $$$ on modding the two, the gap will only increase. Chip, injectors, and I/E will get you into the 12s. Yes they're bricks, yes they can't handle, yes they're starting to look so 1980's, yes their brakes are really questionable, yes their rear main's leak and turbo's have to be rebuilt kinda often. I'm sure there are more faults than that even. Don't take that the wrong way warmonger, just adding to the conversation. I guess I have a soft spot for them because I grew up on regular Regals and always drooled when I saw a GN. The 'svt' of the bunch. lol. All the best, Brian Dors 99 SVT
