I dunno that it's a big waste of money...
It was advantageous for my engine, since my PCM seems to run fairly rich and carbon up the combustion chambers. The motorvac I did a couple of years ago seemed to really make a difference in the amount of detonation I was experiencing. I figure there's got to be a couple of hot spots in the heads.
