well you could go and get your engine flushed, there is a post about that somewhere that i just read the other day, cant remember where though. Also read something about getting your fuel system flushed, which I'm gonna do as soon as I can get the money, gotta do that befre I get the TB from buckshot77, I think

That may work for the Zetec, but would do very little for a Duratec.
Fuel is only injected into the primary ports after the LIM. NO other part of the intake system (read entire UIM, LIM, and secondary head ports) would be cleaned by a fuel system cleaning such as Motorvac (I.E. Big waste of money!)

I dunno that it's a big waste of money...
It was advantageous for my engine, since my PCM seems to run fairly rich and carbon up the combustion chambers. The motorvac I did a couple of years ago seemed to really make a difference in the amount of detonation I was experiencing. I figure there's got to be a couple of hot spots in the heads.

You can get the same cylinder cleaning from using the decarbonizer and feeding it into the TB. Also for a lot less money.
I was mainly illustrating it does not clean the majority of the intake system. Only the primary port (which never gets dirty) & the cylinders. Thus it is not a replacement for pulling & cleaning the intakes.

Oh, I know... I was just saying it does have *some* merit. Not much, but some!

I started thinking about this, and I'm left to wonder something.. That amount of sludge cann't normally all be recycled without a seperator installed. What I'm getting at, is that when I see the design of a PCV valve, it has a design to deflect any decently sized droplets of oil by splashing against the face of it.
Not saying that none of it goes it, but that's just way too much oil being burnt.
EDIT: I also noticed you said it wasn't full, but I don't think it ever would be under normal operating conditions, since the bottom portion of the collector is acting more like a sewage trap. Most of the contaminants that aren't absorbed by the sponges would probably just drain back down the line that attaches to the valve cover.

that oil catcher is a great idea i gotta make one next week. but does the sponge need to bee changed and the how to didnt give much details on the drainer. ive tooken apart many angines and seen that gunk in the manifolds. i had my mr2 manifold cleaned out when i had put the new engine in it. i had brang it to a machien shop and i think the guy let it sit in a tank full of some kinda chemical. but when it came out it was real clean. onmy mr2 i just had a long tube with filter against the firewall and it made a mess. but this oil catcher is cool since the vent ends up where it should.

if enough ppl want them I can make them and then ship them out I would have to have at least 10 to 15 ppl to do this.

No thanks here. Not that it wouldn't be a good idea, but I think it would be more fun to make my own.
