Few Qs..
I have one that I have not installed because I was unable to open the little stopcock valve at the bottom....I broke it with vicegrips tryig.. It IS supposed to open & close to drain the oil right??
Also, I noticed I checked it for airtightness by blowing into the thing. Seems to leak at one of the brass fitings. It is supposed to be airtight, right?? I could probably fix it with epoxy.
Thanks

I seem to recall seeing that picture somewhere before... Dan - Yes the bottom piece is a drain. No part of this should leak. That would be letting in unmetered air & also taking away from the venting of the crankcase (as it would be pulling in outside air instead of vented crankcase vapor)

1.
Why don't you just do your own leg work instead of whining? 2.
The seperator obviously goes into the PCV line between the PCV and the intake. It's up to you to figure out where is best to mount it.
...and just for spite... 3.

OK, you guys have me convinced to try one of these. Too bad I've already got 75K worth of gunk in my intake . As I've learned, the PCV system seems to be sensitive to changes (like using a Purolator instead of Motorcraft valve in my case), and if the separator doesn't trigger a MIL, it must not be too invasive.

How bad is the gunk in a Contour? In a TDI, it bonds with EGR fumes and coats the intake manifold with a oily carbon mess, along with oiling up the intercooler. Is it just an oily gunk in the contour?
